Quail Unlimited's Conservation Recognition Program to Continue With the Support of Budweiser

Adopt A Covey, upland game's premier land owner recognition program, was developed by Quail Unlimited and Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser brand to recognize and challenge land owners, who are the driving force behind conservation achievement and wildlife management.

St. Louis, MO and Edgefield, SC (PRWEB) April 3, 2008 -- Quail Unlimited, America's leader in quail conservation, today announced the Budweiser Adopt-A-Covey (AAC) Program will continue in 2008.

Adopt-A-Covey, upland game's premier land owner recognition program, was developed by Quail Unlimited and Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser brand to recognize and challenge landowners, who are the driving force behind conservation achievement and wildlife management. Adopt-A-Covey activates hundreds of landowners each year who represent thousands of acres of habitat and at the same time allows them to compete for recognition, prizes and bragging rights. In 2007, over 156 landowners with 75,000 acres of managed habitat were judged on the various habitat practices known to increase quail and upland game populations over the long term.

By renewing the program, Budweiser continues its long and strong tradition of leading conservation initiatives. Budweiser provides total support for the program with no entry fees required from landowners.

"We're proud to help recognize those who spend hard and untold hours working toward proper habitat recovery in an effort to bring back the quail and upland game," stated Budweiser Product Manager Bob Fishbeck.

Quail Unlimited, through its dedicated chapter members coast-to-coast, is leading the charge to restore and enhance habitat for wild quail and all upland wildlife. Local chapters working with private landowners, state and federal agencies across the country have resulted in a multitude of unprecedented partnerships. By conducting local events and fundraisers, Quail Unlimited chapters raise conservation dollars that are used for on-the-ground projects in their area.

Landowners who complete and submit an Adopt-A-Covey application will receive a distinctive metal sign for their property, an exclusive Adopt-A-Covey print worth $125, personalized certificate, a management handbook and an Adopt-A-Covey lapel pin. In addition, they will have a chance to win a trip to the coveted Quail Unlimited-Chevrolet Celebrity Quail Hunt, the hunt of a lifetime, provided by Budweiser. Entry forms and details are available online at www.qu.org or by contacting Quail Unlimited at 803-637-5731. All entries are reviewed and judged by a panel of biologists and winners chosen based on the best management practices beneficial to wild quail and upland wildlife. Regional winners, along with one national winner, will be chosen and recognized at the Quail Unlimited National Convention, July 31-August 3, 2008.

"Partnerships exemplified by Budweiser working with Quail Unlimited, are bringing our quail and upland wildlife back "one acre at a time"™. Budweiser truly supports the outdoors, and on behalf of all sportsmen, we thank Anheuser-Busch for all it does" said Quail Unlimited director of marketing Craig Alderman.
