Gerbig Engineering Announces Energy Analysis Service for Cleanrooms

Gerbig Engineering is now offering a service that will analyze a clients cleanroom energy consumption and make recommendations on how to reduce cleanroom costs.

Burnsville, Minnesota (PRWEB) April 4, 2008 -- Gerbig Engineering, a designer, fabricator and installer of cleanroom systems, announced today that they are now offering a unique service to companies that currently have cleanrooms. This service would analyze the cleanrooms existing energy consumption rate, compare that with best design practices and detail a plan on how to reduce energy consumption.

The result of the analysis would provide the client a reasonable goal for energy reduction and a plan to achieve that goal.

"Energy costs are a huge issue and it is only going to become bigger." Said Fred Gerbig, President of Gerbig Engineering. "We come across clean rooms that are consuming 4-10 times more energy than what they should consume. Companies are spending thousands of dollars per month more than they need to for a high quality clean room system."

Fred Gerbig further stated: "While mechanical equipment has become more energy efficient over the years, poor cleanroom system design is by far and away the biggest cause of excess energy consumption. We see systems that are wasting energy by cooling ambient air to remove moisture, and then heating it back up again. There are much more effective ways to achieve this. Another common problem we see is poor ducting which results in much more pressure in the system than needed."

Gerbig has noted that he has seen some systems costing $80.00 per hour in utilities more than it should. Gerbig also noted that many power companies provide incentives to invest in energy savings. In fact it is possible that a company could realize huge monthly savings while having some of their investment costs defrayed by power company rebates.

"Unfortunately, we see many companies try to reduce cleanroom energy consumption by doing things that degrade the cleanroom." Said Gerbig. "We believe that with good design, energy consumption can be reduced dramatically while maintaining or even improving cleanroom quality."

Gerbig Engineering is a privately owned company located in Burnsville Minnesota. The company specializes in design and fabrication of cleanroom systems including softwall cleanrooms, modular cleanrooms and clean room work stations. Gerbig Engineering also does cleanroom certification and consulting. Fred Gerbig has written a number of articles relating to cleanroom energy consumption.
