Growth Development Associates, Inc., CEO Named to Case Western Reserve University Athletic Hall of Fame
Eric V. Richardson to be inducted in Case Western Reserve University Sports Hall of Fame for star role in track and field during the 1970s. The CEO of Growth Development Associates, Inc. was an outstanding scholar-athlete in four separate track and field events all 4 years of his collegiate career.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 5, 2008 -- Eric V. Richardson, founder and CEO of Growth Development Associates, Inc., will be inducted into the Case Reserve University Athletic Club Hall of Fame on April, 25, 2008, after a reception and dinner in the Veale Center on Case Western Reserve University's University Circle campus in Cleveland, Ohio. Richardson will be honored for his outstanding performance as a student-athlete in track and field from 1972 until 1975, when he graduated from CWRU with a degree in accounting.
A four-year letterman for the CWRU Spartans, Richardson competed in the 100 and 200-yard dash, 440-relay, long jump, high jump, and triple jump. He was the team's MVP all four years and was named the MVP of the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) his sophomore, junior, and senior years. An All-American in the 100-yard dash, Richardson led the Spartans to four PAC titles during his tenure. During that time, the Spartans were undefeated in every dual, tri, or quad meet, and all four PAC Championship meets. Richardson averaged 22.5 points per-meet - the highest average in school history. As a student, Richardson tutored accounting, statistics, economics, and mathematics students and was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Fraternity.
Richardson credits his younger brother, Mark Richardson, for much of the recognition he received as a collegiate athlete. Eric has asked that Mark present him with his award at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
"Back in the early 1970s, Mark was upset because he could not believe that the Akron Beacon Journal had not printed anything about their local athlete's star performance," said Eric Richardson. "Unbeknownst to me, Mark began lobbying with the local media; he wanted to know why his big brother wasn't making the news. He told them about what I was accomplishing in track and field and suddenly, there was a half-page ad with a huge picture in the paper!"
After a successful sales and management career with IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation, Eric became the founder and CEO of Growth Development Associates, Inc. and now resides in Naples, Florida. He is an international keynote speaker and has provided sales and management training in 30 countries for companies such as IBM, Siemens and Microsoft.
