World Mahjong Tour, Inc.(WMT), a leading Asia focused gaming media company, has just announced the formation of its Advisory Board led by the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Gareth Chang, along with fellow advisors Steve (San) Eng and James Yao.

Los Angeles, CA, (PRWEB) April 4, 2008 -- (www.worldmahjongtour.com) -- World Mahjong Tour, Inc.(WMT), a leading Asia focused gaming media company, has just announced the formation of its Advisory Board led by the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Gareth Chang, along with fellow advisors Steve (San) Eng and James Yao.

Gareth Chang was formerly Chairman and Chief Executive of STAR TV Group, a multi-channel satellite television network that reaches more than 300 million viewers across 53 countries in Asia. Prior to joining STAR TV in 1998, Mr. Chang was Corporate Senior Vice President of Hughes Electronics and President of Hughes International, responsible for worldwide operations in Europe, Canada, Middle East, Latin America and Asia/Pacific. In addition, Mr. Chang was also President of DirecTV International, Executive Chairman of DirecTV Japan and Chairman of Hughes-JVC Technology. Mr. Chang holds a BA in Mathematics/Physics from California State University at Fullerton and a MBA from Pepperdine University, and a (Honorary) Doctor of Science from California State University at Fullerton. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Qinghua University in Beijing as well as an Honorary Professor at the Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Steve (San) Eng is veteran private equity investor and entrepreneur. He is a partner with Prism Investments, an investment firm focused on growth and pre-IPO Chinese firms as well as the owner of Skytian Holdings, a China focused advisory and investment firm. The group holds stakes in telecom and industrial equipment makers, restaurants, real estate, serviced apartments and gaming firms such as WMT. Previously, Mr. Eng was an Investment Manager with AIG Investment of a $1.1 billion USD Asian Infrastructure Fund, which invested in major projects such as China Unicom and Bangkok elevated rail company, BTSC. He started his career in strategy and management consulting with Accenture and AT Kearney in the US and Asia. Mr. Eng holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School with a major in Entrepreneurial Management and a MBA from CEIBS (China Europe International Business School), the top ranked business school in China.

James Yao, is Founder and Managing Partner of AsiaTech Ventures, a leading technology venture firm focused on Greater China Region. He has extensive knowledge and experience of the communications and information technology market in both Silicon Valley and Asia. In recent years AsiaTech has expanded their scope to include Clean Technology and Advanced Materials. Prior to establishing AsiaTech, Mr. Yao was Vice President of Marketing, Asia Pacific for Anixter, a leading US data communications firm. Before joining Anixter, Mr Yao was Managing Director, Greater China for Banyan Systems, responsible for establishing the firm's Greater China operations. Previous to Banyan, Mr. Yao spent six years at leading software vendor Oracle occupying a number of senior level roles, the most senior of which were Deputy Managing Director and Technical Director for Oracle and Country Manager Oracle, Taiwan.

In other World Mahjong Tour news today, the company announced the launch of its new MySpace Mahjong application which is the first ever multiplayer Mahjong game on MySpace. "World Mahjong Tour continues to expand our Asian gaming presence via worldwide social networks such as MySpace and Facebook," said Pierre Wuu and David Wang, World Mahjong Tour Founders. "We already have over 100,000 Facebook users playing Mahjong online for free and we continue to lead and grow the worldwide Mahjong market outside of Asia."
