What is The GoodWife Report?
Simply, a report which describes the performance of internet affiliate programs offered by international marriage agencies.

The audience for The GoodWife Report is two-pronged. First is any agency that presently offers and operates an internet affiliate program, and any agency that might consider offering an affiliate program. The second target audience is any internet site owner/manager who considers engaging an agency affiliate program for purposes of generating revenue through their affiliate program offering.

The GoodWife Report leverages the experiences of International Relations' (IR) associations with numerous agency affiliate programs.

IR is a network of sites which deals with the topic of cross-cultural relationships between men and women originating from different countries. Some call it the Mail Order Bride industry, but while that phrase is well known, it is interpreted (and used) as a pejorative phrase that denigrates sincere men and women who are seeking, or have already found, their life partner in someone from another country. IR acts in the capacity of a facilitator to help these men and women find one another. The network of sites owned and operated by IR includes:

To support the operation and upgrade of the network of sites, IR elected to participate in many of the various affiliate programs offered by international marriage agencies. As the IR network of sites is; (a) an independent 'user' of affiliate programs serving geographies across the globe, and (b) uniquely positioned to provide an objective characterization on the value-added, or created, by each of those affiliate programs -- the decision was reached to prepare a periodic report of the performance enjoyed (or suffered) by IR in its ongoing relationships with international marriage agencies and their affiliate programs.

Notably, this report will deal exclusively and solely with affiliate program relationships. IR also accepts paid advertising arrangements, and those are not a part of this report.

What Can I Expect to See in The GoodWife Report?
IR looks at several fundamental dimensions of an affiliate program, including:

If the marketing materials are effective in generating referrals from the affiliate website to the agency website, the agency site must offer a broad range of suitable profiles/services at reasonable prices to generate sales. A measure of agency website efficacy can be demonstrated in the "conversion rate," which is a calculation of the number of clicks referred to that site, divided by the number of sales. If an agency site is effective with their presentation and delivery of profiles and services, their conversion rate will reflect it.

Another consideration to keep in mind is -- a 'sale' with one agency, sometimes even the same agency, is not the same as a 'sale' from a different agency for purposes of calculating conversion rate. For example, one agency program pays commissions of $500 for a single sale of a group tour. Another agency counts 'sales' a la carte, hence, they will count a single $7.00 sale the same as a $250.00 sale. For conversion rate purposes, no distinction is made as to the variability in sales values, so the other calculation which must be used is a normalized $ per click.

How Are the Affiliate Programs Graded?
IR will provide a grade, representative of our experiences with that agency affiliate program, in each of several key performance areas -- as well as a total grade for the agency affiliate program. The scoring is as follows:

A - Excellent performance. "Best in Class"
B - Superior performance
C - Expected performance
D - Sub-Standard performance
F - Unacceptable performance

The total grade for the agency affiliate program will be an amalgam of the individual grades, and is somewhat subjective, although the reader should be able to identify the reasons and rationale for the total grade by evaluating the grades given to the key performance areas.

The comments and grades included in The GoodWife Report are merely a reflection of the direct experiences IR has had with these agency affiliate programs. It is possible that someone with greater technical expertise, or a 'warmer' relationship with an individual agency owner might have a different experience. Still, the comments and grades offered are, we believe, a fair and balanced characterization of the experience others should expect from these agency affiliate programs.
