Yardley, PA (PRWEB) April 9, 2008
Global Traveler, the only independent magazine for high-yield business and luxury travelers, is making significant strides in its effort to increase circulation and raise awareness among its niche market in the United States.
"With less than 2.5 million U.S. adults in our target audience, it is a challenge to reach our market," said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO. "We attract international travelers, but we also want to attract those who make at least six trips a year and who fly only in first, business or premium economy class. As a result of our creative marketing strategies we have had great success connecting with the right readers."
Global Traveler has been increasing circulation over the past six months through partnership marketing with airline frequent flyer members, elite passenger profiles, frequent stay programs and corporate travelers. This strategy has resulted in a significant increase in new individual subscribers to the magazine -- beginning with the May 2008 issue -- that will bring Global Traveler's ABC audited circulation to over 100,000 per month. This increase will be reflected in the June 2008 ABC Publisher's Statement.
The most significant development to date is GT's partnership with the InterContinental Hotels Group Priority Club Rewards frequent stay program. In this monumental agreement, Global Traveler will cross-market its readership with IHG's 6.8 million members. IHG will use Global Traveler's editorial to enhance the content of Priority Club Rewards' monthly newsletter (printer and electronic HTML). In addition, Priority Club members will be able to subscribe to Global Traveler and earn Priority Club Rewards points as a bonus -- a wonderful example of partnership marketing. Global Traveler will also offer PCR members additional discounts and bonuses to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Priority Club Rewards this year.
There are other cross promotions part of this initiative including, but not limited to: banners on IHG Web site, a banner on http://www.globaltravelerusa.com, linked special offers from the Priority Club Web site, links from eFlyer (GT's HTML newsletter), partner listing on the Priority Club Web site and direct mailings to IHG's frequent stay members.
"Global Traveler wants real growth in our circulation," said Gallagher. "Our promise to our advertisers is a pure audience base of frequent high-end travelers. All of our copies are delivered as promised and we will not dupe advertisers with false promises about growing circulations. The recently instituted programs are steps in fulfilling our promise."
The IHG Priority Club Rewards program began April 1. For more information on the program, visit the "Partners" page at http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en/home. To subscribe and receive Priority Club Rewards points, visit our Web site at http://www.globaltravelerusa.com/priorityclub.
