MissionWise®, the division of C.H.E.F.® that helps health and human service organizations become stronger and more sustainable in their efforts to eliminate health inequities, will lead a social enterprise workshop at The Washington State Nonprofit Conference to be held tomorrow at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 8, 2008 -- MissionWise®, the consulting division of Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C.H.E.F.®) that helps health and human service organizations become stronger and more sustainable in their efforts to eliminate health inequities, will lead a social enterprise workshop at The Washington State Nonprofit Conference to be held tomorrow at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA.

Considered one of the premier conferences on topics related to social enterprise, MissionWise joins an esteemed group of organizations presenting at this event, including The Alford Group, Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington, Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber Foundation, and YWCA of Seattle, King, and Snohomish Counties, among many others.

Presenting on the topic of social enterprise at this event, MissionWise will conduct its workshop entitled Mission and Impact: Seizing Entrepreneurial Opportunities, led by co-presenters, Marc Fine, MissionWise Director, and Melissa Ransdell, MissionWise Trainer/Consultant. The session will address how social entrepreneurs recognize social problems and use entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage organizations to achieve a significant positive impact.

"We are thrilled to be presenting for the first time at The Washington State Nonprofit Conference on the topic of social enterprise," said Marc Fine, MissionWise Director. "Nonprofits in our state are cutting-edge in many ways, and we look forward to helping them identify untapped opportunities to achieve stronger outcomes by considering their mission and programs through an entrepreneurial lens." Fine and his team at MissionWise are uniquely qualified to address the topic of social enterprise because their own organization, Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C.H.E.F.), has been operating as a successful social enterprise for more than thirty years.

The Washington State Nonprofit Conference will attract more than 500 nonprofit community leaders, supporters, and board members who will convene to explore ways to enhance the vitality of the nonprofit sector. This year's keynote speakers, Leslie Crutchfield and Heather McLeod Grant, are the co-authors of Forces for Good: the Six Practices of High Impact Nonprofits. Conference sessions will cover a variety of topics which include nonprofit employment law, cultural competency, leadership succession, hiring and retaining talent, and tax structure basics, among other topics.
