Supplemental Insurance Made Easy with New Interactive and Educational Web Site from Combined Insurance

The new site (with new URL http://www.combinedinsurance.com) was developed based on extensive consumer research which indicated that consumers desired an insurance resource that could help them understand supplemental insurance and the types of protection available. In addition, consumers also were looking for a resource to understand their unique needs.

According to Deborah O'Connor, vice president of Interactive Marketing for Combined Insurance, "We enhanced the Web site with our new value proposition 'Let's Make this Easy' in mind. The new site features consumer-friendly navigation and simple content that helps educate consumers about the products available and assists them in finding the right coverage for their family. The site also features customer stories that can help visitors relate their own personal concerns or situations with those of current, satisfied Combined customers."

O'Connor adds, "Current market research indicates that 70 percent of the North American population uses the Internet, and that in 2005, 50 percent of consumers who purchased insurance first researched it online. That number is expected to grow to 80 percent by 2010 so Combined's goal with the new Web site was to ensure we provided the most educational experience possible for consumers interested in learning more about the benefits of supplemental insurance."

The new site was designed and built by iCrossing and officially went live March 17. During its first week daily unique visitor traffic increased 40 percent, inbound consumer phone inquiries increased 4 times more than normal and the average length of visit increased 70 percent. The new design offers simple, intuitive navigation and customer case histories to help consumers quickly and easily learn more about supplemental insurance.
