Grande Communications Launches Innovative "GrandeVision" in the Austin Market
Grande Offers World's First Personalized Video Mosaic for Television
to Austin Digital Cable Consumers.
San Marcos, TX (PRWEB) April 17, 2008 -- Grande Communications® announces the Austin launch of its trademarked mosaic platform GrandeVisionTM that allows digital customers to watch up to five channels simultaneously on the same screen. Grande initially makes available three pre-set screens featuring news, entertainment and children's channels for mosaic navigation. Grande customers have the unique added bonus of being able to customize up to three additional mosaic screens.
GrandeVisionTM allows Austin customers to use their remote controls to navigate through feeds, interact with Web-driven video and banner ads and add or delete channels that are available on the mosaic. This service comes at no additional charge to digital cable customers.
Grande became the first video provider in the world to debut this unprecedented navigation experience in May 2007. Designed by the ICTV ActiveMedia Group to be customized and branded exclusively for individual network operators such as Grande, the P:Mosaic personalized mosaic was initially deployed by Grande Communications as GrandeVisionTM in San Marcos, Texas in June 2007.
"GrandeVisionTM is another breakthrough service that helps us to continue to earn our reputation as an innovator in the markets we serve," said Grande Vice President and Austin General Manager Hutch Bass. "It will change the way our Austin customers enjoy cable by offering them a multitude of customizable, cutting-edge options for video services. GrandeVisionTM is a major advantage for our viewers. No other cable television provider offers customers the ability to customize their own mosaic screens and our main competitor doesn't even offer this viewing technology at all."
