San Francisco, Calif (PRWEB) April 18, 2008 -- The Pacific InterMountain Region (PIMD) of the US Lawn Bowls association today announced their sponsorship opportunities for all companies and individuals interested in helping grow and support bowling in the sunshine. In addition, with the local, national and even to some extent international spotlight on the venues in the Bay Area, there are some great low-cost sponsorship and advertising chances to reach this interesting demographic audience.
"We are expecting all the top US Bowlers, as well as bowlers from all around the world competing in singles, pairs and fours" said Bill McConachie, president of the PIMD chapter of the US Lawn Bowls Association. "Our tournament headquarters will be a hotel in the Berkeley Marina that is central to the bowling greens in San Francisco, Oakland, Rossmoor (Walnut Creek) and Palo Alto. All games will take place during the period Sept 13-18 this year."
While a number of younger players always seem to come through and surprise everyone at the major tournaments nowadays, the typical demographic of lawn bowlers is one of active adults and senior citizens with the will, time and money to get out and about and share in this sport that many play well into their '80's. For many it is just a social sport where they compete in their local clubs, and those people will only be spectators and followers at this tournament, since we are expecting top flight international competition.
"Small and local businesses targeting active adult lifestyle people have few affordable opportunities in the Bay Area," said Sandy Souza, chair for the U.S. Open. "Our tight focus on an interesting niche adult sport and our very low package prices offer such companies interesting and unique chances to get their name out at all the locations around the Bay, on the website, in the program, in the news releases, etc. - as well as recognition at all the ceremonies."
The USLBA is the governing body of the sport of lawn bowling in the USA and the Pacific Intermountain Division represents Northern California, Utah and Hawaii.
