Little Nut Tree Toys Relaunches Its Website and Goes Green

Popular retailer of quality children's toys Little Nut Tree Toys has completed a site re-haul after several months' development, introducing new features and products.

Manchester, UK (PRWEB) April 19, 2008 -- Little Nut Tree Toys' website opened its virtual doors in 2005 and since then has had two major overhauls with the latest packing the biggest punch, and they are already seeing the results.

The company is a retailer of educational, traditional, wooden and outdoor children's toys and games suitable for kids aged between 0 and 8 years. Their aim is to offer toys that encourage indoor and outdoor play and learning without the aid of batteries of electronic gaming.

Jo Nicholson, director of Little Nut Tree Toys comments: "We're absolutely delighted with this year's re-development. We've spent a long time thinking about what our customers want, talking to them, and asking what changes they would like to see. One of the simplest was to introduce a 'recycled packaging' choice at the checkout page. It's proving great. Our customers are making specific lifestyle choices by shopping with us and are generally interested in environmental issues so being able to opt for this facility - which ultimately reduces waste introduced into the environment - means both the customer and the company are being greener. A fantastic result."

An element of the site that Jo has been careful to maintain is the 'play activity keys'. These are there to help parents understand what and how each of the toys available will specifically develop their child. For instance, the 'Balancing Monkeys Game' has the play activities BN and HE to show the parent that the toy develops Brain Nurture and Hand-Eye Coordination. The smiley face icon also indicates whether the toy is special needs friendly or not. All items are also clearly labelled as in or out of stock.

Other redevelopments include a 'smart search' function which uses predictive text rather like a traditional search engine. Other changes to the site have been made to make the shopping experience easier, quicker, and more pleasurable. A gift wrapping service is now available, and anyone struggling to find the perfect children's present can buy Gift Vouchers to any value over £10. They also tell us there are some fantastic new extreme sport toys being introduced in the next few weeks, just in time for the summer sunshine.

You can find the redeveloped site, featuring all available toys and more information about the company, at www.littlenutteetoys.co.uk.

Notes to editor:

About Little Nut Tree Toys
Little Nut Tree Toys was launched in 2005 as a result of Jo Nicholson wanting to buy good quality, wooden and educational toys for her one year old daughter. The company philosophy has always been to promote toys that encourage kids to discover for themselves (without batteries and jarring electronic voices) and also to focus on getting kids playing outside again, which Jo sees as an integral part of childhood. The company has grown from selling 50 toys in offices over lunch times, craft and Christmas fairs, to now selling over 700 products via its website. Since the re-launch the website, customers are now offered a variety of features including recycled packaging, gift wrapping and gift vouchers.

Jo maintains that the safe and fun development of children is at the heart of her stock choices. She loves finding toys that are great fun but at the root of the design have educational and developmental learning attributes.
