Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 23, 2008
Greatmail LLC today announced it has added shared calendaring, contacts, email archiving and synchronization to its business email hosting service.
Building on its flagship email platform featuring spam filtering, virus protection, SSL encryption and email forwarding, the upgrades include an advanced Outlook-like webmail with shared calendaring, contacts, company directory tools, group lists and RSS feed reader support. An optional sync tool based on the Funambol project allows synchronization between Outlook, webmail and BlackBerry devices. Plans also include email archiving and subscriber based email marketing add-on components.
Greatmail's web based administration console allows administrators to manage email accounts for multiple domains. Private label and reseller options are available for ISPs and hosting companies looking to outsource their email services. Greatmail email accounts are sold in blocks of 25 starting at $1.50/mailbox monthly. Mailboxes include 1 gigabyte of storage, and administrators may purchase additional storage as needed. Greatmail supports standard email protocols including POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP Authentication.
Greatmail provides each client with a dedicated account manager who serves as a point of contact for technical support, billing and service related issues. Additionally, Greatmail offers email, phone and callback support available 24x7 to designated account administrators.
In order to provide continuous email service, Greatmail uses process specific clustering, a technique that assigns unique services (incoming mail, outgoing mail, client connections and webmail) to dedicated server clusters. Further, each application cluster is situated behind a pair of load balancers.
Greatmail has been providing high availability email solutions to businesses in North America and around the world since 2002. Greatmail LLC is a privately owned firm headquartered in Houston, TX.
