New Children's Novel Schools Readers on Having Faith in God

First book in a planned series trails six kids on a unique journey

The book, which is set in a small town in the mountains, follows the story of six neighborhood kids known as the "Coral Way Gang" who set out on a journey none of them intended to take but that was in God's plan. The gang travels to a strange land and are given a mission to find the "Shadow of the Lamb." Armed with only an ancient parchment containing instructions and a scarlet stone, they begin their journey. Annie, the gang's ringleader, struggles with not being able to trust others. She discovers she has been given a unique gift, but no one believes her. Will Annie--and her friends--learn to trust in God even when others let her down?

As an administrator for the children's ministry in her church, Kuykendoll worked firsthand with young children and was able to tap into their creative energy, bringing out an imagination of her own that was both fascinating and knowledgeable. This was when she conceived the idea for her children's adventure book series. Already, she is hard at work on the second installment in the series.
