Memorial Day Parade/Veteran Events Directory at VetFriends.com

VetFriends.com -- the largest Web site reuniting and supporting US veterans -- has created a nationwide online Memorial Day parade/events directory at www.vetfriends.com/memorialparades/ free for all to view and submit event information to -- in honor of our fallen soldiers, while supporting US veterans and military.

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) April 28, 2008 -- This Memorial Day, VetFriends.com -- the largest Web site for reuniting US veterans -- is reaching out and asking Americans to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices and bravery of all who have served our country in times of need by coming together in support at local Memorial Day parades and events. With this in mind, VetFriends.com has created a nationwide Memorial Day parade/events directory at www.vetfriends.com/memorialparades/ free for all to view and submit information to.

The VetFriends.com Memorial Day parade directory will highlight the locations, dates and times of the holiday's parades and events. Moreover, coordinators can submit and register their events that may not yet be listed on the site. All listings will be posted on VetFriends.com for over 150,000 visitors per month to view, and circulated through a member e-newsletter reaching an additional 80,000 people nationwide. With these efforts, VetFriends.com hopes to encourage Americans across the nation to come together in honor of our fallen heroes, while supporting US veterans and military.

Founded by a veteran in support of veterans.

Founded by Marine Corps veteran of Desert Storm, Dale F. Sutcliffe, www.VetFriends.com has reached hundreds of thousands of veterans through its online registry with the goal of reuniting veterans. The idea of the Web site occurred during a conversation with his father-in-law, who had served during the Korean War. When asked whether he would attend a hypothetical reunion with his old Army unit, Sutcliffe's father-in-law responded, "I'd be on the next plane to Korea to see those guys." Reflecting on the depth of this reply, Sutcliffe realized those special bonds often withstand the test of time precisely because of the unique and often difficult circumstances under which they were formed in the military. Now, those bonds can be reestablished through modern technology.

As Memorial Day approaches, join VetFriends.com in honoring our fallen soldiers, while thanking and supporting our US veterans and military.

Note to our friends in the media: "Interview a Veteran" at VetFriends.com (www.vetfriends.com), connects members of the media to veterans who would like to be interviewed for a news story. If interested in this free service, please contact VetFriends.com.
