Full Sail University's In-House Creative Design Team Nominated for the 12th Annual Webby Awards

On April 8th, the Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) and the Los Angeles Recording School (LARS), sister schools to Full Sail University, were nominated for the 12th Annual Webby Awards. Both sites are produced by Full Sail University's in-house creative design team, Platinum Creative, which is comprised predominantly of Full Sail graduates.

Winter park, FL (PRWEB) April 27, 2008 -- On April 8th, the Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) and the Los Angeles Recording School (LARS), sister schools to Full Sail University, were nominated for the 12th Annual Webby Awards. Both sites are produced by Full Sail University's in-house creative design team, Platinum Creative, which is comprised predominantly of Full Sail graduates.

LAFS was nominated in the Best Home/Welcome Page category along with Rusty George Creative, Conde Net, National Geographic Digital Media and Wired Media. LARS was nominated in the School/University category alongside Bennington College, Imperial College London, Visual Arts Press, and Hello Design. The nominees are eligible for both the Webby Award and the Webby People's Voice Award.

This year's Webby nomination is the second year in a row for Platinum Creative. Last year, Platinum received a nomination in the Best Home/Welcome Page and School/University categories for their home page, www.fullsail.edu.

Hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by the New York Times, the Webby Awards are the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including websites, interactive advertising and online film and video. The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy whose members include Internet co-inventor, Vinton Cerf, R/GA's Chief Bob Greenberg, "Simpson's" creator Matt Groening, as well as Arianna Huffington and Harvey Weinstein.

"Platinum Creative is unique in that we focus on usability in conjunction with creative design. Our team works hard each day to make a strong, innovative and functional presence on the web with each of our sites," said Jeff Ward, Platinum's Art Director. "It is a privilege to be nominated for an award with such a high standard of excellence."

Founded in 1999, The Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) is located in the heart of Hollywood at the historic RCA Building at 6363 Sunset Boulevard. The Los Angeles Recording School (LARS) was founded in 1985 and is located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. The private post-secondary educational institution teaches its students all aspects of recording session procedures and technologies in both instructional and hands-on lab environments.
