"Changing Consumer Culture through Health Savings" Conference

Former White House healthcare advisor Roy Ramthun will be among the quest speakers at an upcoming health care conference in Paducah, KY entitled "Changing Consumer Culture through Health Savings". Mr. Ramthun will be joined by speakers Dr. Larry Luter of Meritain Health and Greg Carlton of Peel & Holland Financial Group. The seminar will be held on May 13th in the Myre River Room, Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center, 100 Kentucky Avenue, Paducah, Kentucky.

Paducah, KY (PRWEB) April 28, 2008 -- Former White House healthcare advisor Roy Ramthun will be among the quest speakers at an upcoming health care conference in Paducah, KY entitled "Changing Consumer Culture through Health Savings". Mr. Ramthun will be joined by speakers Dr. Larry Luter of Meritain Health and Greg Carlton of Peel & Holland Financial Group. The seminar will be held on May 13th in the Myre River Room, Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center, 100 Kentucky Avenue, Paducah, Kentucky.

Roy Ramthun is President of HSA Consulting Services, a health care consulting practice specializing in Health Savings Accounts and consumer-driven health care issues. He is also Senior Vice President of HSA Clearing Corp., a firm specializing in turn-key HSA programs for financial institutions.

Prior to forming his consulting practice, Mr. Ramthun was the Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy at the White House. As a member of the National Economic Council staff, Mr. Ramthun was the senior health policy advisor to President George W. Bush regarding health care issues involving the Internal Revenue Code (primarily Health Savings Accounts), Medicare, Medicaid, and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. Before joining the President's staff, Mr. Ramthun was the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for health initiatives. In this role, he led Treasury's implementation of Health Savings Accounts after they were enacted into law in December, 2003.

Dr. Larry Luter, Chief Medical Officer of Meritain Health, oversees the medical management services for their business. Meritain Health is the largest privately held provider of self-funded employee health benefit services in the country, serving more than a million plan participants in all 50 states.

Greg Carlton, Co-Principal and Executive Vice-President of Peel & Holland Financial Group, is a frequent consultant and presenter for clients, groups, and professional associations. He provides consulting services to clients seeking value-added expertise to drive innovation and strategic planning, resulting in lowering cost- of- risk and improving profits while making clients more attractive as employers.
