Dantel Preventing Catastrophic Power Failures with its WebMon® BattMon Power Management Solutions

Dantel develop method for proactively anticipating power system failures before they adversely affect revenue generating service.

(PRWEB) April 29, 2008 -- Dantel, Inc., the leader in remote monitoring, network surveillance and alarm management systems, today announced the availability of its WebMon Matrix and Edge Power Management solutions.
The reliability of power plants, serving new and aging communication networks, has become a point of intense focus for system operators. Dantel has developed an innovative method for proactively anticipating power system failures well before they may adversely affect revenue generating service.

"The vulnerability of remote power equipment has recently been demonstrated by a series of catastrophic failures. This equipment, utilized throughout the networks of major wireline, wireless, and cable carriers, is aging and malfunctioning, and in some cases, with explosive results," said Al Hutcheson, president and CEO of Dantel." These failures have resulted millions of dollars of damage, service interruptions and corrective actions, which could have been prevented."
The WebMon Power Management system utilizes dynamic sensing techniques and real-time analysis to detect and alert decaying battery health well before it can ignite a critical event. WebMon actively scans, analyzes and manages various components of remote power equipment including:

  • Commercial Power Access
  • Battery Strings
  • Power Generators
  • Environmental Controls

"Accurate power management requires smart measurement and analysis of multiple variables such as voltage, temperature and other key stimuli," says Ifty Husain, director of engineering for Dantel. "The intelligent processor engine of the WebMon enables deterministic algorithms to work with multiple input data to detect, alert and prevent, critical power affecting events."
The modular WebMon design provides the flexibility, intelligence and capacity to keep up with the constantly changing power infrastructure required in today's communications networks. WebMon's user interface includes a real-time graphical web based display of remote power equipment parameters and a digital display of other environmental data and power control settings.

In addition to power management, the WebMon Matrix and Edge provide a wide range of features and capabilities for remote monitoring, access and surveillance applications. Key features include wireless and dial-up communications as well as GPS, terminal server and controls. Standard SNMP, TL1 and DCPF reporting protocols are supported for communications to a host of management systems including NMA®, Telenium®, HP Open View®, NetExpert® ,Net Cool®, CA Spectrum® and Dantel's VisionMaster®.
