The Diversity Awards Dinner, held annually, acknowledges individuals and corporations in the multimedia and entertainment industry for their efforts and contributions in the area of diversity. The Foundation looks for those companies that not only exhibit diversity initiatives at all levels of its hierarchy, but also strive to create a culture that promotes and nurtures diversity, while producing and encouraging diverse programming and entertainment.

"Ken Lowe has championed an array of programs and talent that clearly demonstrate his commitment to diversity. He serves as an example to the people who work for him and with him," Pamphile said.

Lowe, who founded and launched HGTV in 1994, was elected president and CEO of the E.W. Scripps Co. in October 2000. He is considered one of the pioneers in video-on-demand and was the mastermind behind the HGTV Dream Home™, one of the most successful promotions in network television history.
