Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 30, 2008
Less than a year after launching word-of-mouth marketing consultancy Buzz Corps, Inc. in Austin, TX, the powerhouse social media group founded by Chris Aarons and Geoff Nelson has expanded to create a Seattle office. They announced today that former Microsoft marketing executive Nick White will head the effort.
White will work on marquee clients including HP and AMD, among many others. As head of the Seattle office, he will be working directly with clients and well as being heavily engaged in business development for Buzz Corps. "A primary part of my job is to help bloggers do what they do best which is to shape opinion through sharing of information. This will be done, in part, through working with companies to understand the role they can play in that conversation," White said.
"What's entirely unique about focusing exclusively on social media is that we serve our clients by forging deep ties and relationships with bloggers. We're a part of the community and we want to help them get the attention and respect they deserve as real influencers in very dynamic, constantly changing marketplaces," Nelson added.
And Aarons believes that part of the reason for Buzz Corps' success out of the gate is that they have distinguished themselves by already being immersed in the culture of social networking. "We are not a PR agency. We don't send press release to blogs and expect to get coverage for our clients. That's not how the community works, and that's the antithesis of true relationship building," Aarons said. "Other marketing and PR agencies do have social media consultants that counsel clients, but that's all we do. We're not dabblers. We're in it every day, and there's more and more evidence to suggest that what happens in the blogosphere is systematically altering companies' bottom lines."
For now, Buzz Corps continues to make major strides into the significant new medium that is social marketing. They are continuing to redefine how corporations create and implement programs in this important frontier.

ABOUT NICK WHITE
A Seattle native, Nick began his career at Amazon.com where he worked to bring their nationwide network of distribution centers online. White also spent time managing speech technology deployments at Conversational Computing and then Spanish-language cell phone applications at InfoSpace. At Microsoft for nearly five years, White worked first in the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division and most recently in Windows Client. In both capacities he managed non-traditional marketing programs that engaged bloggers and other community members influential in shaping customers' purchasing decisions. "One of the best parts of that job," White said, "was the opportunity to associate a human face (mine) with the most widely-used OS in the world, by managing the most-trafficked blog at Microsoft." White earned Bachelor degrees in both English and Spanish from the University of Washington and an MBA from Duke University.
