If more people focused on performing high-quality, high-intensity resistance exercise they would not need to concern themselves with getting to the gym everyday.

Studies have shown that exercise can stop fatigue, lessen depression, cut your chances of heart disease and cancer, and even keep you mentally sharp. In short, it is a simple solution to living a longer, healthier life. So why isn't everyone doing it? ABC News reported recently that the main excuse is a lack of time. With most Americans juggling career, family, and everything that comes in between, less than half of the population successfully fits in the recommended 30 to 60 minutes of activity a day.
However, a new study conducted by Dr. Timothy Church, the director of the Preventive Medicine Research Lab at Louisiana State University, shows that as little as 75 minutes of exercise a week can improve fitness and reduced the chance of a heart attack. In the study, 500 middle-aged women walked just 25 minutes three times a week to increase their aerobic fitness and decrease their health issues.
How can this new information help others that are looking to lose weight and tone their muscles without spending hours at the gym? Personal trainers such as Michael Lipowski are developing individualized 30-minute workouts for those who don't have time for more. Lipowski, the founder of Pure Physique Fitness Studio and author of Pure Physique: How to Maximize Fat-loss and Muscular Development, believes that trainers should specialize in shorter, high-intensity resistance workouts that only have to be executed two or three times a week.
"I believe that the number of people out of shape today has less to do with the amount of time they spend exercising each week and more to do with the type and quality of exercise they perform," says Lipowski. "If more people focused on performing high-quality, high-intensity resistance exercise they would not need to concern themselves with getting to the gym everyday."
Training sessions at Pure Physique focus on reducing muscle wear and tear, emphasizing controlled body movement and efficiency, and taking the client's individual needs into account. Clients can expect results with only two to three 30-minute sessions a week.
"I found Mike's training techniques to be not only extremely effective but time efficient as well. It is important for me to find time to stay fit but with starting up a new business while working another job as well as being the mother of two teenage daughters, time isn't something that comes as a surplus to me," explains Pure Physique client Andrea Tortorella. "This is why Mike's training system is particularly beneficial to me. It enabled me to give my body a quality workout and still have time to pursue my other interests and responsibilities. I used to spend hours in the gym and now I can get the effectiveness of that workout in 30 or so minutes."
