Crunk's highly anticipated debut hip hop CD entitled, 'It's A Hell Of A Drug'. The CD will be available to consumers at top retail outlets such as Amazon and Target as well at all stores that sell music downloads (iTunes, Real/Rhapsody, Napster, Groupie Ringtones (Sprint, Cingular & Alltel), etc.).
In stores May 27th worldwide, 'It's A Hell Of A Drug' is a very distinctive hip hop album with evocative life messages, that boasts the incredible sounds of Capt. Crunk who is from the Bronx in New York City. Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records / Sunset Urban says, "Crunk has an amazing rap and an amazing way to say what is on his mind throughout the entire CD." The new Capt. New hip Hop performer Capt. Crunk is more than a rap and hip hop artist. He is a lyricist whose words sound like an established poet. Crunk's music also shows that he is a strong activist; he campaigns very hard to make sure his listeners will know the down side of drug abuse. "His message is very clear and about real life in the city," says Ronald C. Bullock, A&R staffer at Sunset Urban. Bullock goes on to say that "Crunk has the ability to spread the message in his rhymes." The brand new CD from Sunset Urban Records is distributed by Sunset's new distribution arm, Sunset Label Group Distribution Company. 'It's A Hell Of A Drug is being released to every major digital download site and to every top mobile content site starting in mid May and is being worked to hip hop radio stations starting this week.
After being asked about his sense of direction with his music, Crunk makes no bones about saying "all aspects of my life are represented on this CD," - from Crunks street mentality, to his political beliefs, to his deep intimate self. A total look at life is evident from the very beginning of the CD. "Lost Soulz" is the first song being worked to hip hop and urban styled radio formats. The second single is the "Gunz and Drugz" with "Club Crunk" also being worked to radio all over the world starting this month.
