Owing the IRS for one year of back taxes is bad enough. Owing them for six years can truly be a nightmare. The nightmares don't have to last, however, thanks to the IRS' Offer in Compromise program.
Ira Love found out that relief from his nightmare was just a computer click away. The Houston, TX, man went to the Internet and found JK Harris and Company, LLC. And in less than one year, the nation's largest tax resolution company, helped the warehouse worker settle his $14,718 IRS debt for just $816.
"Thank you JK Harris for giving me my life back," Love said after the IRS accepted his Offer in Compromise. "Thanks for the good service and care. There were times when I was really down about my problem. But I would make one phone call, and the people of JK Harris made me feel all better."
An Offer in Compromise is an agreement between the IRS and the taxpayer that allows the taxpayer's delinquent tax debt to be compromised for less than the amount owed. The offered dollar amount is based on the taxpayers net worth plus their future income potential, in other words, what the taxpayer is actually able to pay.
For Love, that amount was significantly less, just under six percent of the original debt. JK Harris presented documentation to the IRS proving Love could not pay his entire tax debt. They showed the IRS his monthly expenses were more than his monthly income, and his only equity was in his 19-year-old vehicle.
"I went online and had a lot of companies I could have picked," Love said. "But JK Harris stuck in my head. I'm so happy I picked JK Harris. The name is what sold me. I like the name JK Harris. It sounds powerful."
