Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) May 1, 2008
Factory 2 Shelf and their technology partner Retail Pipeline Integration Group, originators of the Flowcasting processes and applications that streamline the way retailers and their suppliers collaborate, have been included in Gartner's "Cool Vendors in SCM and ERP, 2008". The April 15, 2008 report was written by C. Dwight Kladdich and Andrew White.
Andre Martin, CEO of Factory 2 Shelf says, "Planning the integrated supply chain starting at the retail store and working back through to the manufacturer's plant represents the greatest single opportunity for service improvement and cost reduction for retailers and their trading partners. We are pleased that Gartner evaluated us, which we believe is recognition that one unique consumer sales forecast, at the store level, is all that is needed to drive the extended end-to-end supply chain to a 'Single Set of Numbers.'"
Andre Martin also adds, "The time has now arrived for trading partners to shift attention away from independently forecasting demand up and down the supply chain, to collaborating and modeling the flow of products from the factory floor to the store shelf. Forecasting, as we have practiced it in the past, is out and Flowcasting is in."
Factory 2 Shelf's technology partner, Retail Pipeline Integration Group, led by Darryl Landvater, provides the patented Flowcasting software that enables retailers and their suppliers to collaborate and plan the entire flow of product from factory to store shelf on one common system.
About Gartner's Cool Vendors Selection Process
Gartner's listing does not constitute an exhaustive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services. Gartner disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness of a particular purpose.
Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.
