Integrations Catalog Teams with BAM Radio Network to Serve Families with Special Needs

Parents and teachers of children with learning and sensory difficulties will benefit from "Body, Mind and Child" insights.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- Today, the BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving & Learning and Jackstreet Media, announced that it has teamed with Integrations Catalog to launch Integrations Radio. The new channel is featured on www.integrationscatalog.com, a site that provides solutions for kids with learning and sensory difficulties. Integrations Radio will nanocast BRN's premier program, "Body, Mind and Child" (www.bodymindandchild.com), hosted by Rae Pica, a 30-year veteran in the field of early childhood education. The program offers insightful discussions with the nation's leading child development experts on issues parents and teachers of children with special needs care about most.

"All parents can benefit from learning more about the process of early childhood development. But If you are a parent or teacher of a child with special needs, it is critical to have access to the best and latest insights on raising and teaching that child," said Pica. "Integrations is a wonderful resource and we're pleased to help them add another valuable dimension to their offerings."

Sue Wilkinson, occupational therapist and catalog director for School Specialty's Integrations™ product line says, "Sometimes when a child says 'I won't,' they really mean, 'I can't.' Sensory processing issues occur in 5 to 15 percent of all kindergarten children. School Specialty is about providing solutions so that all children can learn. Move-To-Learn strategies are the most highly effective tools for our kids who have learning, behavioral, and sensory differences. It is time for us to recognize the mind-body relationship and stop teaching children from the chin up! Rae Pica's BAM Radio challenges our thinking with the most compelling updates in child development and brain research. Visitors to our Integrations website will delight in these stimulating 'Body, Mind and Child' podcasts."

About BAM Radio Network
The BAM Radio Network was launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the "commercialization of parenting" and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of the mind/body connection in early childhood. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming challenges the popular genre of parenting notions that has given rise to commercial products like Baby Einstein, Brainy Baby and lapware, all of which claim to accelerate a child's mental development in the face of science that suggests otherwise. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The program is distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
