Pala, CA (PRWEB) May 2, 2008
The California Counter-Terrorism Summit, to be held May 20, 2008, at the Pala Resort & Casino in North San Diego County, is presented by The Terrorism Early Warning Group (TEWG), and its affiliated partners. This 1-day event, titled Our Understanding of the Threat: Implications for Homeland Security, will provide an interactive milieu for insight and learning tailored to First Responders and law enforcement agents across the country. The summit will focus on the detection and prevention of probable threat scenarios affecting the homeland through proven techniques, new technologies, and best practices.
On the announcement of the sponsorship nomination, SSI President Henry Morgenstern comments, "We are tremendously excited to be a part of this important event both this year and next and for the opportunity to continue to build our relationship with California's law enforcement and emergency response community. At SSI, we pride ourselves in offering those dedicated to the cause of Homeland Security the very best and latest counter-terrorism training resources through events like this summit and through vehicles like The Counter Terrorist Magazine."
The mission of the Terrorism Early Warning Group is to monitor and communicate trends and potentials, which may result in terrorist threats or attacks on American interests at home and abroad. Early warning elements will evaluate open source data and research threat information to guide Terrorism Oversight Committees in their planning and training efforts.
The TEWG would like to extend appreciation to the following organizations for their contributions in the planning & coordinating process: San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Chino Valley Fire Protection District, Ontario Fire Department, and the Joint Regional Intelligence Center (JRIC). This summit will be a pre-conference event to California's State Fire, EMS & Disaster Conference & Expo conducted May 21-23, 2008, at the same location.
