Xulon author's book about "tiger pastor" will inspire readers to pray.

The Bible says that when Daniel was thrown into the lions' den, God shut their mouths, but can such a thing still happen today? According to Oyvind Gaarder Andersen, author of new release The Tiger Pastor: A Modern Version of the Lions' Den - Highlights from the Incredible Revival in Korea (paperback, 978-1-60477-905-9), it can.

When he was about 20 years old, Kim Sang Ho, one of the pioneers of the revival in Korea, experienced how God closed a tiger's jaws for him. The event took place while he was walking from village to village spreading the Good News. Because of this incident, he was nicknamed "the tiger pastor." In Andersen's faith-inspiring book of the same name, readers will learn the fascinating life story of Pastor Kim Sang Ho and the highlights of the incredible revival in Korea.

Says Andersen, who is a native of Norway, "These stories have not been told to the world until now. No book, except this one, is written about the tiger pastor, not even in Korea. He did not want to get the glory himself. Therefore, he did not allow books to be written about him -- until I was trusted to interview him to write about his life. The stories and highlights from the revival in Korea will be new and fresh for people. These wonderful stories are unknown to nearly everybody. It is the story of what happened before Yonggi Cho founded his church."

While staying at Yoido Full Gospel Church, Andersen gained access to the church's library and the literature about the history of the revival in Korea. Additionally, he met the tiger pastor himself and spent many hours in his office interviewing him. Ultimately, the author hopes his book will inspire "readers to pray, to have faith in the power of prayer," he says. "Prayer is a key to the revival and miracles that have happened in Korea."

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 5,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order The Tiger Pastor through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
