Morrissey Goodale LLC tracked 15 deals in the AE industry over the past month, bringing the total number of deals in 2008 thus far to 96.

Our initial review of year-to-date activity confirms the increasing influence of international and publicly traded firms in shaping the AE industry. Over one in five domestic sales involve a publicly traded or international buyer. International firms are buying into the US at twice the pace that US firms are buying overseas.

Wardrop Engineering Inc. (Winnipeg, Canada) announced it will merge with CPG-Franz Environmental Inc. of Markham, Ontario.

AMEC (Seattle, WA), the international engineering and project management company, announced that it has acquired the assets of Smith Williams Consultants, Inc. (Denver, CO).

Leeds-based Grontmij today announced the 100% acquisition of sustainable building services consultants Roger Preston & Partners (Maidenhead, UK), their third strategic acquisition in a month.

Leeds-based engineering consultancy Grontmij has strengthened its building and civil engineering services with the acquisition of UK-based Trett Consulting.

MWH (Broomfield, CO), a global provider of environmental engineering, strategic consulting and construction services, today announced the acquisition of Northern EnviroSearch Ltd., an environmental consultancy headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.

Billings, Montana-based HKM Engineering has merged with Anchorage, Alaska-based Dowl Engineers.

AMEC plc (Seattle, WA) announces the acquisition of the leading project services company Rider Hunt International Limited (Surrey, UK).

Australian engineering services firm WorleyParsons Ltd. said on Tuesday it has agreed to buy U.S.-based deepwater hydrocarbons engineering firm INTEC Engineering (Houston, TX) for $108.5 million.

Harmsen & Associates Inc., a civil engineering in Monroe, WA, has merged with land surveying firm Fakkema & Kingma Inc. of Oak Harbor, WA.
