InventHelp announces that two of its clients, inventors from Detroit and Grand Rapids, Mich., have designed a flower pot that automatically waters and fertilizes plats for three to five weeks. The invention is patented and the inventors have created a production mold.

The PLANTER PLUS, SELF FEED FLOWER POT LONG TERM was developed to ensure that plants receive the proper amounts of water and fertilizer. The pot would feature a reservoir containing water or a combination of water and fertilizer that would be drawn into the soil via capillarity. This would save plant lovers from having to water their plants frequently and would be ideal for vacationers and frequent travelers. In addition, it would be suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The inventors came up with this idea based on their personal experience caring for plants. "We had a large variety of plants both inside and outside our homes, and caring for them all was time consuming and costly," said one inventor. "We came up with this idea to save plant lovers the worry of watering plants frequently."

The original design was submitted to the Detroit office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
