Tampa, FL (PRWEB) May 6, 2008 -- Tampa, FL - The Tampa Sports Authority has awarded The Whitlock Group the High-Definition Television (HDTV) System upgrade for the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. Raymond James is home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the University of South Florida Bulls, the New Year's Day Outback Bowl and it will be the host stadium for the Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. The venue is also a popular choice for concerts and special events.

The project awarded includes the upgrade of the RF distribution "Head End" to support high definition signals, allowing the stadium to broadcast HD content to all displays throughout the facility. The existing CRT displays in the private suites and public areas inside the stadium will be replaced with over 1,000 Sony high definition LCD displays. Enseo HD tuners will also be installed, allowing the system to utilize the existing RF network but giving the stadium the ability to upgrade to IP TV at a later date.

As part of their ongoing efforts to contribute to the local community, the Tampa Sports Authority is having The Whitlock Group remove and palletize the existing stadium displays for distribution to the Hillsborough County School system.

The Whitlock Group will be providing design, integration, programming and testing services to have the new HD system functional prior to the 2009 Super Bowl XLIII.
