Winner of national bridesmaid contest baked her way to honor. In a nod to the recent hit movie "27 Dresses," contest entries had to be exactly 27 words. Entrants were asked to describe what they have done - above and beyond the traditional bridesmaid call of duty - to make them worthy of the title "America's Best Bridesmaid." The contest began with the launch of BridesmaidEssentials.com in mid-February and recently ended.

BridesmaidEssentials.com, a gal's essential guide to help the bride, announced the winner of a search to find America's Best Bridesmaid. Rachel Sauvageot of Los Angeles, CA won the 2008 inaugural contest.

Entrants were asked to describe what they have done - above and beyond the traditional bridesmaid call of duty - to make them worthy of the title "America's Best Bridesmaid." Entries were judged on creativity, character and content.

Here is the winning entry - all 27 words - from Rachel Sauvageot:

"As my sister's MOH*, I: designed invitations, created innumerable organizational spreadsheets, baked over a thousand cookies and a four tiered cake from scratch, assembled centerpieces, beamed joyfully." (*MOH = Maid Of Honor)

BridesmaidEssentials.com awarded Rachel the grand prize package, valued at $500, which included a BCBGMAXAZRIA purse and $100 PiperLime.com gift card.
