Living in a Car Friendly Town Can Improve Your Motor Insurance Premium

If you live in a car friendly town then you are more likely to be in a postcode where your car insurance may cost you less.

Poole, Dorset (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 -- A survey conducted in July 2007 by Virgin Money listed the top 10 towns and cities to drive based on a number of factors including the level of car crime, the number of speed cameras and the number of safe car parks, which are all factors in determining motor insurance premiums.

Sample premiums obtained in the areas within the car friendly towns were calculated to be much lower than those listed in the worst 10 cities and towns.

We are extremely pleased with the result of the survey. We recognise the different needs of motorists and provide a range of parking options for residents and visitors, which are convenient, competitively priced and safe… We have ten car parks, which have achieved Park Mark status, a national scheme designed to reduce crime and fear of crime in car parks
One of the places to be included in the top 10 of the survey was Poole. Steve Tite a principal manager of transportation services in the Borough of Poole "We are extremely pleased with the result of the survey. We recognise the different needs of motorists and provide a range of parking options for residents and visitors, which are convenient, competitively priced and safe… We have ten car parks, which have achieved Park Mark status, a national scheme designed to reduce crime and fear of crime in car parks".

It is initiatives such as this that is enabling towns such as Poole to be recognised for having a safer and better environment for its motorists and therefore helping local residents to obtain lower car insurance quotes.

Andy Cole, Head of Marketing for Castle Cover, a Car Insurance company based in Poole added "As one of the UK's leading over-50's car and home insurance specialists, we find that we are able to offer lower prices as our customers are low risk"

It is not just Car Insurance premiums where recognition of a car friendly town can have a positive effect. There can be other indirect benefits for local economy. People may be more encouraged to move into the area if it is regarded as a safer area and also if people know that commuting is relatively easy due to safe and ample parking and the driving experience as a whole then this can lead to people looking for more Jobs in Poole also thus benefiting local businesses and the local economy.
