Bodog Signs Justin Bonomo to Team Bodog

Bodog Online Poker announced that professional poker player Justin Bonomo, known in the poker world as ZeeJustin, has joined the roster of Team Bodog Pros.

(PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- Bodog today announced that it has signed 22-year-old professional poker player Justin Bonomo to its roster of Team Bodog pros. The accomplished young card player from Los Angeles, who is known around the poker world simply as "ZeeJustin," will join Team Bodog pros David Williams, Evelyn Ng and Jean-Robert Bellande at the Bodog online poker tables and at major televised tournaments, including this summer's World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
"Justin is one of the most feared and skilled players in poker today and we're thrilled to officially have him join our team of world-class poker pros," says Morris Mohawk Gaming Group CEO Alwyn Morris. "Justin lives and breathes the Bodog lifestyle and is a perfect fit for us. We expect him to make a lot of noise this year for Team Bodog, beginning with the WSOP this summer."

Known for his aggressive playing style, analytical approach to the game and ability to quickly read opponents, Bonomo has become a dominating force at major tournaments around the world, amassing more than $1 million in winnings on the international poker circuit.

After building a successful online playing portfolio, Bonomo first exploded onto the live poker scene in 2005 at the European Poker Tour French Open in Deauville, France, where he became the youngest player to ever make a televised final table at 19 years, 5 months and 20 days. Turning 21 in September 2006 and finally able to play live tournaments in the U.S., Bonomo wasted no time finding success on American soil by making an impressive four final tables at the 2006 Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas, including a seventh place finish in the series' WPT-televised main event.

Playing in his first World Series of Poker last summer, Bonomo earned a total of three cashes, and most notably, he stormed to the final table in Event No. 10, the $2,000 buy-in No-Limit Holdem event, as the overwhelming chip leader and ended up fourth out of a huge field of 1,531 players. Most recently, Bonomo made high-profile final tables at the 2007 Caesars Palace Classic Main Event in October and the 2008 WPT Borgata Winter Open this past January.

While Bonomo is known mostly for his success at the No-Limit Texas Holdem tables, he has proven that he is a complete poker player deftly versed at all formats of poker. Last summer, he was the youngest player left standing in the prestigious $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2007 World Series of Poker, and he finished second in the $3,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2007 WSOP Circuit Event - Caesars Palace Las Vegas.

"I'm extremely excited about joining the select ranks of Team Bodog pros and becoming an ambassador for the Bodog brand alongside David, Evy and Jean-Robert. I know each of them personally and have tremendous respect for them," Bonomo shared. "I'm ready to start things off right by having a big WSOP this summer and hopefully bringing home a gold bracelet for Team Bodog. I'm also looking forward to meeting up with other poker players from around the world at Bodog's online poker tables."

Online poker players looking to secure a spot alongside Bonomo and the rest of Team Bodog at the 2008 WSOP Main Event can do so now in the Bodog Poker Room, where Bodog is guaranteeing at least six $12,000 Main Event Prize Packages weekly through its "Main Event Semifinal" tournaments and the ongoing "Player's Choice" promotion. Players can get in on the action for as little as $1 or 100 PTS. Qualifiers are running daily, and all lead to the four weekly Main Event Semifinal tournaments and the weekly Player's Choice Semifinal. Players can also buy-in directly to the Main Event and Player's Choice Semifinals for $250 + $20.

Each Main Event Semifinal will award at least one $12,000 Main Event Prize Package with the Main Event Semifinal on Sundays guaranteeing two of the packages, which include the $10,000 buy-in to the main event, $2,000 for travel expenses, loads of Team Bodog gear and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Las Vegas in total Bodog style, including meeting the Bodog Girls and much, much more.
