San Francisco-based Five Star Restaurant Consultants and a group of local sponsors

  • Arms novice restaurateurs with how-to basics while "elite" training focuses on issues for those already in business
  • Dawson, a restaurant consultant and teacher, created the symposium after realizing her students - both potential and established restaurateurs - had identical challenges. "I realized very quickly that I was giving the same advice over and over," Dawson said, citing undercapitalization as a common industry mistake.
