The facility was unveiled by Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of Philippines along with Dilip Vellodi, Chairman and CEO and senior company executives in a grand inauguration ceremony held Monday, May 5.

The opening of the Camarines Sur facility marks Sutherland’s fourth Philippines expansion since the company opened its Manila operation in July 2005. According to industry analysts, the Philippines is now the third largest destination geography for BPO services. Sutherland also operates in Clark and Davao City, Philippines and has delivery centers worldwide in India, U.S., Canada, Eastern Europe and Mexico.

The addition of this facility is fueled by continued growth in Sutherland’s current outsourcing engagements along with the addition of several new clients and complements Sutherland's provincial growth model in the Philippines. Sutherland's Camarines Sur facility went live with 400 associates providing a full range of back office and customer lifecycle management services.

In 2007, Sutherland more than doubled its headcount in Philippines. The company hired over 3000 professionals to take its Philippines headcount to over 5600.

Partnership with Philippines Government
Sutherland recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Technical Educational Skills & Development Authority (TESDA) of the Philippines. This agreement is targeted towards creating technology and learning centers across numerous Philippine cities.

The TESDA initiative further strengthens Sutherland’s existing training infrastructure and helps identify and groom the talent needed to meet the company’s ongoing expansion plans. This partnership firmly establishes Sutherland’s presence in local communities and solidifies its position as an "Employer of Choice" in Philippines.
