Knowing Autism

New Children's Book, "Knowing Joseph" Release Announced By Blooming Tree Press.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 9, 2008 -- Blooming Tree Press has released its latest children's book, a 256-page middle grade reader about a boy and his brother. "Knowing Joseph" was written by Judith Mammay, a retired special education teacher.

"Knowing Joseph" is the story of two boys, Brian and his autistic brother Joseph. Joseph, a 6 year-old, throws embarrassing tantrums in public. He screams when normal sounds are too loud for him, and doesn't play well with other kids. Brian constantly finds himself defending Joseph from the school bullies.

It takes a new friend for Brian to begin to understand autism, and really know Joseph. In addition, a school project reveals some interesting new secrets about the class bully.

"Knowing Joseph" is available now in bookstores nationwide. This new book is also available by logging on to www.bloomingtreepress.com, by calling (512) 921-8846, or for wholesale ordering from Baker & Taylor. Blooming Tree Press is a Texas-based publisher dedicated to producing high quality reading for the young and the young at heart.
