Sigmar Berg's "Developed Views II" series doesn't relate to a particular landscape like urban or nature. Artist Sigmar Berg is not interested in the object itself, it's a certain view, a specific angel - whether it's an urban landscape or a piece of nature or a close up detail - which catches his eye and interest. The series is a new way of viewing. Every moment or every scene the artist records is reduced to the essential, up to his conviction "less is more". The artist is providing a visual scape where not the "perfect" picture is important. Sigmar Berg plays with light and shadow to emphasis and accent what he sees. The artist's work seems familiar when viewing. Once the eye begins to move, different aspect and scenarios appear independent of the total. Sigmar Berg works directly with the exposure to highlight colors, outlines and shades. This process provides what appears to be an organic image one which feels familiar yet touches ones soul on a surreal emotional level. Bergs images are then printed on canvas lending an even more so impressionist sense. Each piece is a monoprint and therefore an original.
