Briar's Creek Clubhouse Opens With Final Release of Lakefront and Marshfront Homesites

Nationally-ranked Rees Jones golf retreat continues to attract families from all over the country.

Johns Island, SC (PRWEB) May 12, 2008 -- Briar's Creek, located just 16 miles from downtown Charleston, today announced the grand opening of its 13,000-square-foot clubhouse. The new clubhouse will offer exclusive services and amenities for the club's 300 members, as well as the 115 residents of the Briar's Creek community.

Briar's Creek is a private golf retreat located on more than 900 acres of Johns Island, with an exclusive collection of estate, lakefront and marshfront homesites. The nationally ranked South Carolina golf course was designed by Rees Jones and named the nation's "Best New Private Course in 2002" by Golf Digest. The Golf Club at Briar's Creek offers a limited opportunity of membership and home ownership, promising a golf and lifestyle experience like no other, as evidenced by a no tee time policy.

With each new release, we're getting more attention and more demand from buyers who want a chance to join the Briar's Creek community. It stands a testament to the quality and exclusivity of this private golf retreat.
The newly opened clubhouse rests between two peninsula greens, on the 9th and the 18th holes, and overlooks both Briar's Creek and the Kiawah River. Inside, members and guests can enjoy a gourmet meal in the formal dining room, while lounge and bar areas also provide more casual spaces after a round of golf. A grand wraparound porch surrounds the clubhouse, providing panoramic views of the South Carolina Lowcountry, the club's community dock and Briar's Creek's 19th hole.

The men's and women's locker rooms are attended by a professional staff, and the expanded pro shop compliments a world-class practice facility, complete with 9 golf professionals, including 4 who are PGA certified, for both personalized and on-course instruction. The new clubhouse also boasts conference facilities and a business center, catering to small, intimate groups or larger member functions, as well as fitness and conditioning room.

Members and friends of Briar's Creek gathered at the clubhouse for the grand opening celebration, enjoying dinner, drinks and tours of the new building. During the event, the developers also formally released Phase 6, featuring 19 of the newest homesites at Briar's Creek, including the last collection of marshfront and lakefront homesites in the community.

Starting in the $500s, the homesites in Phase 6 will be some of the last released in this exclusive private community. The previous section of estate homesites, released in November 2007 is nearly sold out.

"We released a total of 32 estate homesites in 2007 and all but 7 are under contract," said Steve Koenig, the developer of Briar's Creek. "With each new release, we're getting more attention and more demand from buyers who want a chance to join the Briar's Creek community. It stands a testament to the quality and exclusivity of this private golf retreat."
