Culligan Franchise Uses Vehiclepath GPS Fleet Tracking to Create a State of the Art Computerized Time Clock

Culligan uses Vehiclepath to set up a state of the art time management system. Employees no longer have to come to the office to clock in or out. They can do it remotely from their truck saving fuel and time.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2008 -- A Culligan Santa Maria, CA franchise has created a revolutionary time clock program using Vehiclepath GPS fleet tracking. The time clock system allows drivers to clock in and out with the touch of a button, eliminating the need for drivers to go to the office to punch in and out. The time clock program is wired through the Input 2 wire on Vehiclepath and they receive an alert when a driver clocks in or out.

"We set up the time clock system mainly to comply with California Labor Laws, which require our drivers to take a 30 minute lunch break after 5 hours working. We now know when a driver is at lunch and when they are working," Justin Hurst, Operations Manager, Culligan. "Drivers would clock in when they arrived at the office, head out for deliveries and would have to drive back or call in to clock out for lunch. That either wasted time and fuel having drivers returning to the office or put extra work on our call center having to take calls from drivers reporting when they were going to lunch. This new system will give us more accurate information in a more efficient manner."

Culligan will realize an immediate return on their GPS fleet tracking investment. They will save fuel (drivers don't have to be in the office to clock in or out), employee productivity will increase (time sheets will be accurate and no extended lunch breaks) and better route planning (some drivers are driving close to 400 miles a week; opportunity to optimize delivery schedules). They can also use Vehiclepath's dispatch feature to know which driver is closest to a customer, saving gas and time.
