Sanford, Maine (PRWEB) May 21, 2008 -- Plixer International, the developer of Scrutinizer NetFlow & sFlow Analyzer, has released version 6.0. Scrutinizer. The network management and analysis tool uses Cisco System's NetFlow technology - as well as several other vendors' traffic-flow architectures - to provide users with detailed network traffic information. In other words, Scrutinizer answers the big question: "Who is doing what on your network?"

The latest version of the popular network traffic analysis tool boasts many new features, such as:

  • MyView for executive-level reports and improved third-party integration with products such as WhatsUp Gold and Solarwinds Orion
  • Improved collector performance scaling to several hundred routers and more than 1,000 interfaces and more than 20,000 flows per second
  • Support for distributed Scrutinizer collectors to a central interface
  • Support for Windows Vista, 2008 server and Linux 5

A complete list of new features can be found at Plixer.com.

In addition to these product enhancements, more free options have been made available with the Scrutinizer Free Version. Reporting for Quality of Service, Autonomous System and Application Groups are now available for free.

Michael Patterson, Scrutinizer product manager and Plixer CEO, believes that distributing a comprehensive free product will help build awareness of NetFlow technology.

"The NetFlow analysis market is getting increasingly competitive, because IT professionals are starting to realize the benefits flow technologies can provide the network infrastructure," Patterson said. "It is important that our commercial product continues to make strides in its feature set and performance, while the value of our free version continues to grow."
