Increo is going to revolutionize the way that companies innovate

Increo Solutions, a Palo Alto, CA-based company that produces software to support teams throughout the innovation process, announces the closing of a seed round of financing from Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ). DFJ is a top tier venture capital firm with investments worldwide.

Increo also announces the launch of its first product, Backboard (http://www.getbackboard.com), designed to ease the process of collecting feedback on documents and images. Targeted towards product managers, marketing teams, designers, and others who require an easy way to display and aggregate feedback, Backboard facilitates project interaction between co-workers, clients, and other contacts.

Tim Draper, Founder and Managing Director of DFJ, joins Increo's Board of Directors. "Increo is going to revolutionize the way that companies innovate," Draper said. Draper has led investments in industry-changing companies including Hotmail and Skype.

Increo was founded in 2007 by Kimber Lockhart, Jeff Seibert, and Rebecca Illowsky, all currently in their final year at Stanford University. "DFJ is excited to have them join our team as our youngest entrepreneurs," Draper said.

Seibert was formerly President of Arios Software, a Macintosh software company he founded while in high school. "I am excited to return to industry and to product design and development," Seibert said, "The last few years were focused on school, and it is now time to re-focus on building great software." Lockhart and Illowsky also bring previous entrepreneurship experience to Increo.

Backboard is the first in a series of tools designed by Increo to simplify the innovation process.

Creating a Backboard is free. Users upload their document to http://www.getbackboard.com and then select from whom they would like to request feedback. Along with support for all common document and image formats, Backboard also allows users to request feedback on any web URL.
