Stunning New Historical Biography Chronicles Ordinary American's Battles Against Japanese in World War II

Mesmerizing military biography Richard Kidder: WWII SURVIVOR: Manila to Bataan. To Corregidor. To Cabanatuan POW. To a Hell Ship. To Umeda Bunsho POW in Osaka. To Tsuraga POW. To Home, Alive … explores the extraordinary experiences of one sailor

Gainesville, Ga. (PRWEB) May 15, 2008 -- Gordon Sawyer's Richard Kidder: WWII SURVIVOR: Manila to Bataan. To Corregidor. To Cabanatuan POW. To a Hell Ship. To Umeda Bunsho POW in Osaka. To Tsuraga POW. To Home, Alive … is the gripping real-life story of a U. S. Navy petty officer who helped stall the Japanese sweep through the South Pacific in the devastating opening days of World War II, the price he paid and how he lived to finally tell the story.

For 50 years, Richard Kidder refused to tell his story, believing that every true hero "is still out there." He finally agreed to let neighboring writer, Sawyer, tell his story on the condition that he be called a survivor, but never a hero.

All at once horrifying, humorous and undeniably moving, Richard Kidder: WWII SURVIVOR is a testament to the thousands of "common men of uncommon valor" who have formed the thin line that has kept America free throughout the centuries.

This is a must-read for history buffs, especially those interested in World War II in the Pacific, or for any reader looking for a gripping, true story.
