Brown Aveda Institute is expanding its course offerings to meet increasing demands in Ohio's beauty industry.

Starting in the fall of 2008, Brown Aveda Institute will offer part-time evening cosmetology classes at both its Mentor and Rocky River locations.

"Our new cosmetology classes will allow people seeking new, exciting careers to transition into the growing beauty industry," said Edward T. Brown, Founder and Owner of Brown Aveda Institute.

According to the United States Department of Labor, hairdressers, hairstylists, cosmetologists, skin care specialists and shampooers will see a projected growth of up to 20 percent through year 2010. Manicurists and pedicurists will also see a 35 percent increase over the same period.

"Plus, Brown Aveda students have a competitive edge breaking into and thriving in the industry," said Brown. "In addition to covering all integral elements of cosmetology, esthetics and nail therapy, we help individuals gain a deep understanding of self-mastery, motivational people skills and appreciation for the arts from which hair, make-up and nail art is born. It extends from our fundamental belief that wellness is the purest form of inner beauty."

Brown Aveda Institute's Cosmetology program will continue to comprise 1,500 hours of extensive hands-on learning throughout 63 weeks to provide individuals a complete understanding of beauty and wellness. The course will run Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Saturdays, from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Training will encompass three types of learning: theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and professional business building skills. This strategic combination of knowledge promotes successful careers as hair stylists or technicians, makeup artists, or salon owners. Both Mentor and Rocky River campuses offer financial aid for those who qualify.

In line with Aveda Brown Institute's bid to meet industry growth, the Ohio beauty school has given its website a complete make-over. It now boasts more information to help individuals: plan cosmetology careers; enroll with ease; gain financial support; and even establish a network with Brown Aveda Institute alumni.

"Our graduates' opportunities and success potential are limited only by their commitment and hard work," noted Brown. "Thanks to the comprehensive training and direction provided, and the growing market, these upcoming cosmetology professionals can truly live the American dream."
