USR, Inc. Barriers Reach One Year of Service for U.S. Air Force in Iraq

Universal Safety Response (USR) achieves milestone while providing the U.S. Military in Iraq with mobile vehicle barriers to help protect troops against terrorist attacks.

Franklin, TN (PRWEB) May 15, 2008 -- In May 2007, the U.S. Air Force approved the use of Universal Safety Response's Xtreme Mobile Barrier upon the completion of operational field testing. This resulted in the installation of the first XMB barriers at a vehicle check point in Iraq. Now, one year later, multiple vehicle barriers are in place protecting United States Armed Forces despite the challenges of a harsh desert environment and the evolving dynamics of the theater.

Changing conditions in Iraq have led to further challenges for the barrier, such as the introduction of the 43,000 pound MRAP vehicle. Despite the significant increases in the size and weight of vehicles crossing the barrier, the XMB has proven reliable and durable.

When the U.S. Military first contacted USR in 2006 with an urgent request to engineer a mobile active vehicle barrier, USR developed and deployed the XMB in less than 12 months. Since then, additional innovative products have been created along with barrier enhancements to resolve rising security concerns encountered by our nation's armed forces deployed around the world.
