I am a tired mother

Consumer reviews on Viewpoints.com make one thing abundantly clear - people are looking for escape and have little tolerance for unexpected complications when it comes to everyday life.

A product, service or destination providing a satisfactory break from reality - real or virtual - is likely to be rewarded with four- and five-star ratings and a positive review on Viewpoints.com. The power of personal recommendation is also used to steer consumers away from goods & services which have caused problems for others. Escape is apparently aptly delivered in the TV Show like "Heroes". With over 70 reviews to date, people say "I LOVE this show," "Keeps me coming back for more," and "hands down best show on TV." Reviewers also rave about Chuck, Lost and Grey's Anatomy. The Wii game console by Nintendo, in over 475 reviews, garners comments like "a stroke of genius" and "even old folks love it."

Viewpoints.com reviewers have lots to say about Disney, and it's almost entirely positive. Averaging 4.66 stars of a possible 5 in 119 total reviews, Disney has gotten reviews saying "The Happiest Place on Earth!", "We Love the Mouse!!!!" and "Best Family Vacation Ever!" A travel agent who calls herself "Steviegirl" alerts budget-savvy readers, saying "I work for AAA and they are THE ONLY agency that offers any type of discount to Disneyworld. Joining AAA could save you a bundle!"

And, don't skip out on the Disney Cruise called Magic either. It is a big hit. Disney movies Enchanted and Finding Nemo also topped the list.

Reviewers are crazy about author Janet Evanovich, who, according to them, writes with "humor and excitement" in such a talented fashion that she rates 4.9 of 5 stars averaged over 58 reviews. Readers with opinions on Viewpoints are "never disappointed," and find it "hard to keep from smiling" when reading her work.

Female reviewers couldn't stop raving about their favorite personal pampering products. Reviewers say they love their Sonicare electric toothbrush, Chi flat iron, Mac Make-up and Burts Bees products.

Negative consumer experience provokes just as strong a reaction in reviewers. Consumers who suffer bad service, products that don't work as promised, or being mired in corporate quicksand are sharing their opinions online, and don't hold back when it comes to words like "hate."

Viewpoints' most negative reviews can occasionally contain humor, but are ultimately meant to spare others the reviewer's experience. Apparently, bigger is not necessarily better; presently, multiple negative reviews detail bad experiences with Comcast, Microsoft, US Airways, Time Warner, Countrywide and UPS.

Comcast's high speed internet service is squeaking by with reviewers, currently averaging 2.94 of 5 stars, while the cable service is only ranking 2.41. Viewpoints reviewers say the company provides "horrible customer service" and "canceled 3 appts on me."

While Microsoft products like the X-Box game console and the Zune digital media player rank higher than 4 stars - again, the escape theory - its Vista program is disliked by reviewers.    Neither the Home nor the Business version ranked higher than 2.53 stars; online consumer reports claim it is "slow to open and freezes often" is "bloatware," and "has more glitches than uses." One reviewer emphatically says "Get the BUGS out!"

US Airways has one business traveler reporting she has "never encountered a more frustrating company." Another comment, "US Errways is Consistent at Only One Thing: Failure!" At 30 reviews, the company was averaging 2.4 of 5 stars.

Reviewers have both love and hate relationships with H&R Block; unlike US Airways, which has yet to earn a five-star rating, H&R Block has 5-star reviews but even more 1-star reviews, averaging 2.54 overall.

How Viewpoints Works
Viewpoints.com distinguishes itself from other ratings and reviews web sites by offering highly personalized consumer reviews on a broad range of products and services. These first-person accounts by consumers are real-life tales of varying length, and often include slang, humor, regional flavor, background and comparisons, personality, wit and strong opinions. They detail why the subject of review is worthy of praise or avoidance. Unlike the results of a survey, a Viewpoints.com opinion is personal, and can be attributed to an individual writer, who shares information about himself with readers.

Reviewers attribute one to five stars for each item they review, and readers then vote on whether or not a review is helpful. This gives readers another tool to decide if a particular consumer review is worthy of consideration. Another unique attribute of the site is that reviewers post, with their reviews, descriptive "I am" tags, so that readers can identify which reviewers are most like themselves. Product reviews are accompanied by tags such as "I am not rich," "I am a tired mother," or "I am a recreational athlete."

To learn more about which products and services are loved and hated, visit Viewpoints and browse the site. Top products are featured by category. And, nearly every product or service has a positive and critical featured review.
