The Content Direct website presented a bold and intriguing challenge
Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 14, 2008
Pappas Group, a leading brand strategy and interactive design firm, was honored with The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences' "Webby" award for Best IT Hardware/Software Website of 2008. Winners will be honored at two star-studded ceremonies in New York City: The Webby Film & Video Awards on June 9th and The 12th Annual Webby Awards Gala on June 10th.
The Pappas Group won the Webby Award for a website designed for CSG Systems, a provider of online video content solutions. The website is the online home for CSG's "Content Direct", a video content platform that facilitates distribution, engagement and monetization of video properties. It was selected by Webby Award panelists over sites from four other contenders in the category, including IBM, wired media and Hewlett Packard.
"The Content Direct website presented a bold and intriguing challenge," said Anthony Pappas, president and creative director of the Pappas Group. "Our goal was to make a complex and multi-faceted technology solution easily accessible and understood to a wide range of end users, creating an effective online marketing tool."
Visitors to the Content Direct website (http://www.csgsystems.com/contentdirect) are greeted by a simple homepage featuring six uniquely-colored panels, each bearing a leading question geared toward the needs of different potential customers. By clicking on the question most relevant to their needs, users as disparate as video content developers and marketing executives can quickly access details on Content Direct features specific to their needs.
"Our ultimate goal for this site was to simplify everything for all users," said Jeremy Gilman, brand strategist at the Pappas Group and project manager for the Content Direct website. "Content Direct is a complex technical offering, but the user groups CSG targeted bring varied technical expertise. We created a unique, straightforward experience in which users take simple actions to engage with the product and ultimately drive results for our client."
Nearly 10,000 entries in over 100 categories from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide were submitted for the 12th Annual Webby Awards. Website entries were judged on content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and overall experience. The Pappas Group is one of two Washington-area web and interactive design firms to win a 2008 Webby Award.
"Washington is under-recognized as a hot spot for innovative work and nimble agencies," said Pappas. "We are proud that the Pappas Group and CSG have been recognized for the outstanding results that can be achieved when creative strategies are used to solve business problems."
"The Webby Awards honors the very best of the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. "The CSG Content Direct website is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of Pappas's work."
