In April 2008, Women With Moxie welcomed its 700th member. Since its creation in August of 2007, Women With Moxie has grown exponentially, welcoming new members from all areas of business. A front page appearance on the Business Weekly section of the Sarasota Herald Tribune gave the group the boost it needed to reach 500 members in March.
On April 19, 2008, Women With Moxie gathered at Rustic Grill for their Mother Earth Mixer. The event was attended by around 190 women, their highest attendance figure yet.
Women With Moxie is geared toward business women who find social interaction with like minded women to be beneficial. Their Moxie Mixers provide a wonderful opportunity for business women to make connections, find new clients, talk about their expertise, enjoy some girl bonding, and rub elbows with other successful women. Moxie Mixers are casual in nature, allowing members to connect without the high pressure of some other networking groups.
Women With Moxie began meeting in August of 2007 with a mission to bring local business women together to build valuable relationships. On the third Wednesday of each month, the group meets for social interaction and business networking. Women With Moxie is just $50 per year to join, and membership on the website does not obligate you to participate in the mixers. Women may post their profiles online, along with events, requests and business news. New functions being introduced in the near future are an employment section, member to member discounts and much more.
Next month's Moxie Mixer will be held on Wednesday, June 18th at Rustic Grill from 7-9 p.m.
Elsie Gilmore and Laura Daniel Gale, local business owners, co-host the Women With Moxie mixers. Gilmore owns True Green Studios, LLC, a web design and development studio with a host of clients around the country. Gale owns Everything But The Girl, a unique boutique in the Rosemary District that offers handmade artwork and gifts made by talented local artisans.
