At present, event planners are limited to using much more expensive sleep masks to fill this temporary need for a blindfold. Because Weber currently produces eight varieties of original sleep masks and blindfolds, his customers sometimes ask for blindfolds in large quantities: 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 or more to be used once or twice during an event and then discarded.
When Weber was asked why he developed this new kind of blindfold for small and large events he replied: "These days most people are economy, conservation and recycle aware. This new Weber Event Blindfold & Eye Mask is designed to fill the need for a "throw-away" disposable blindfold at a very reasonable price. This new event blindfold is made of durable black 80 lb. Classic Linen material. or foam. The blindfold is attached to the wearer with an adjustable elastic band. On the inside of the blindfold Weber added a unique and useful feature: five (5) tissue paper Liners. These Liners are held in place by the elastic strap. By adding these liners Weber has designed a quite unique blindfold that is both disposable, re-usable and very comfortable to wear. These Liners provide the option to use this Weber Event Blindfold once and dispose of it, or re-use it many times with the easy to replace always clean Liners. In short, the basic Weber Even Blindfold can be kept clean and sanitary for many re-uses by different wearers during any similar events in the future.
During an event, such as school testing or training sessions when the blindfold is passed from one wearer to another, it is quite easy to remove one of the soiled paper (tissue) liners used by a previous wearer, and start fresh with the next new, clean tissue liner which is already in place. (i.e. you remove the used tissue by pulling it off of the inside of the mask and this will expose a new, clean tissue for use by the next wearer of the Blindfold) Or, when there is a long period of time (a few days or weeks) between events, more tissue paper liners can be added to the inside of the blindfold.
