Bethlehem, PA (PRWEB) May 19, 2008
Glemser Technologies, a Pennsylvania-based pharmaceutical software and services company, today announced the imminent release of version 5.0 of its suite of regulated content management applications. Version 5.0 of the suite includes a major update to xmLabeling™, Glemser's global product labeling solution for management and submissions of labeling content to American and European health authorities, and the addition of xmContent©, its Documentum-based platform for consolidating and rapidly deploying robust regulated content management applications to reduce total cost of ownership.
xmLabeling 5.0…a major update to the leading comprehensive labeling solution. The 5.0 version of xmLabeling adds support for evolving health authority standards for SPL and PIM, a Microsoft Word-based editor and additional features for managing labeling content globally. xmLabeling 5.0 is built on xmContent, Glemser's Documentum-based complete application platform.
xmContent…an ideal platform for consolidation initiatives. xmContent is an ideal platform for document management consolidation initiatives as companies seek to reduce the costs associated with maintaining large numbers of similar applications. xmContent is a comprehensive, configurable application environment that:
- Integrates Documentum with off-the-shelf products for authoring XML files within Microsoft Word, generating renditions and managing translations
- Arranges content on screens and dashboards with functions that are intuitive to navigate and one click away
- Allows logically related steps to be executed together to simplify the experience of the casual user
xmContent can be configured to manage manufacturing, clinical, marketing, labeling and other types of regulated content. Both xmLabeling 5.0 and xmContent 5.0 are built on Documentum 5.3 using the Webtop interface and supports a variety of XML editors, including Xpress Author from In.vision and Arbortext Editor (formerly Epic Editor) from PTC.
In introducing xmLabeling 5.0, Andy Glemser, Glemser's Chief Technology Officer, stated, "This version of xmLabeling adds important new features identified by our customers, such as support for the latest PIM standard (DES v2.6), integration with an MS Word-based XML editor (Xpress Author), and usability improvements pertaining to the management of parallel post authorisation variations. In January of this year, a global pharmaceutical company used xmLabeling to assemble and generate the first production PIM submission received by the EMEA using a commercially available software application. The lessons learned from this experience led to the identification of new features and business processes to be supported by xmLabeling 5.0."
According to Ray Glemser, the President of Glemser Technologies, "With these 5.0 releases, our xmLabeling and xmContent solutions now share a common application architecture. Our vision is to provide a strategic solution to the evolving needs of pharmaceutical companies with a single, unified architecture to manage regulatory content in any format."
