In a season of voting blue or red across the fifty United States, many of America's most committed voters have cast their votes online for the Greenest solutions in home & lifestyle products and services. As a result of voting at Green blogs and Green Websites across the Internet, the Finalists have been announced in the 2008 GREEN LOG Home & Lifestyle Awards.
Nominating candidates in its own election year campaign to "Build a Greener World, One Home at a Time," the GREEN LOG Home & Lifestyle Awards have recognized leaders in every facet of green home building, green home design and green energy, water conservation, furnishings and even information sources. A list of the finalists in 18 categories can be seen on the non-profit Web blog at http://www.greenlogawards.com/category/finalists/
"Voting for leaders and a competitive spirit are hallmarks of our cultural experience. When it comes to our environment, these ideals have resonated with home buyers and home builders who are thinking green and building green." said Jim Young, president of PrecisionCraft Log and Timber Homes, who, along with the firm of Mountain Architects, founded the public awareness and recognition program. "We have been more than gratified by the enthusiasm for these inaugural awards as voters in 18 categories have expressed their support for a wide array of green products, tools and techniques." Young is the chairperson of the Log Home Council for the National Association of Homebuilders and has been educating homeowners on why green homes in general, and log homes in particular, contribute to a healthier environment, both around the house and around the globe.
Speaking of getting the green word out, the finalists in the Best Green Blog category were also named. They are: GreenRightNow.com, BestGreenBlogs.com, Green-Talk.com and BuildGreenRadio.com
Winners of the GREEN LOG Home & Lifestyle Awards will be judged by a panel made up of experts from the Environment News Service and other program officials.
