Best Biking Outfitter on Earth
Bristol, VT (PRWEB) May 20, 2008
VBT Bicycling Vacations announces its latest North American biking vacation, Arizona: Sonoran Splendor. The seven-day tour, which winds its way through the Tucson Basin, debuts in November 2008.
“We're very excited about showing our guests this amazing part of our country,” said Gregg Marston, president of VBT, an award-winning international bicycle tour operator. “The wide open spaces and soft rolling hills of the Tucson Basin make for great bicycling. We’ll ride not only through starkly beautiful desert, but also along grasslands, on a canyon-side road, and through a forest of rare cacti found only in Sonora. We’ll also visit a riverside bird sanctuary and the expansive Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, a living museum of the desert ecosystem.”
The trip begins south of Tucson in Sonoita, continues to the artists’ enclave of Tubac, and concludes in Tucson, with cycling routes to Patagonia, Mission San Xavier del Bac, Sabino Canyon, and Saguaro National Park. This new vacation offers the opportunity to learn about the culture and get to know local people, a signature on all VBT trips. Travelers will meet wine growers at Sonoita Vineyards, a local bird enthusiast, and ranchers at a traditional barbecue. Lodgings are in authentic southwestern-style inns and a five-star resort.
The first departure is scheduled for November 9, 2008, with additional dates through March 2009. Prices for the seven-day itinerary range from $1,795 to $1,995, including six nights of lodging, use of a VBT bike, and full van support.
